Set in the beautiful Hartley Valley, this historic school / hall and grounds are the pride and joy of the local community. The hall has hosted many local gatherings and is ideal for small receptions, meetings, gatherings and classes. We have a small but functional kitchen, and air-conditioning if required.
Historic Hartley School (built in 1881), and Hall, is managed voluntarily by the Hartley Reserves Land Managers and governed by the Crown Land Management Act 2016. The school closed as a place of education on 23 April 1971, and the exterior / interior is still a snapshot in time of late 1800's architecture, school furniture and memorabilia.

Fees and charges: Booking fees are payable by Direct Deposit into our account in advance of the event. Charges are as follows:
Note: All bookings will also be charged a refundable bond charge of $150, to be deposited into your nominated account within 5 business days of you vacating the property. Any damages or cleaning costs incurred by Hartley Reserves, or non-conformance with the rules listed below as a result of your hire, will be deducted from your bond. Please refer to the Rules for Use Hartley School and Hall (page below) for more information.
Cancellation of bookings: 25 per cent of the hire fees will be retained by Hartley Reserves if cancellation of the booking by the hirer is less than 3 working days prior to the date of hire. Hartley Reserves reserves the right to cancel the booking, although will only be exercised in extenuating circumstances.
Notice of booking request: A minimum of 5 working days’ notice is required to process a booking request.
Inspection of facilities: Inspection of the venue is by appointment only.
Facility condition Report: A Facility Condition Report form shall be completed prior to returning the keys.
Key Collections: At least 1 working day notice shall be provided prior to taking possession of the keys.
Rules of Use & Cleaning: Hirers must follow the Rules of Use (refer attached link) and leave the premises / equipment clean and tidy.
Public Liability: Public Liability Insurance cover may be required.
Liquor License: A Liquor License is required for functions where alcohol will be sold.
Noise Restrictions: Unless otherwise stated in the Conditions of Hire all noise must cease at 11:00 pm.
Vacation of premises: Unless stated otherwise in the Conditions of Hire all premises must be vacated by 11:00 pm.
Kitchen ware: Crockery and cutlery are not provided. It is the responsibility of the hirer to organise catering equipment for their function.
Electrical Equipment: Electrical equipment brought onto the premises is at the responsibility of the hirer.
Children Safety: The hirer shall ensure all children are supervised by a responsible person/s.

This NSW Crown Lands facility is managed and maintained by voluntary labour, so during and after your use, please ensure that the facilities have been left as follows:
1. All rubbish has been packed in garbage bins / bags and removed from the premises.
2. Decorations and other equipment (where used) have been removed (i.e. Including blu tac, streamers, balloons etc).
3. Kitchen is wiped down and left clean for the next users and Toilets left clean,
4. Floors are left in a clean and tidy state (swept and mopped where necessary).
5. Timber Floors: No abrasive, sharp or hard objects are to be brought onto the timber floors (e.g. high heeled shoes, rocks or furniture without soft protective sliders etc.).
6. All electrical equipment is to be turned off (lights, hot water heaters, air conditioning, fridges, oven and microwave etc.).
7. All water taps are turned off and not leaking (Note: Tank water only used on-site).
8. All windows and doors are closed and locked securely, before the key is returned to the key safe. Please also close boundary gates.
9. Parking areas and grounds have been left tidy and free of rubbish, including cigarette butts, wrappers, containers and domestic animal droppings etc.
10. The BBQ (if used) will be left clean / free of fat / oil and returned to where it came from.
11. Naked fires are prohibited on site.
12. Driving vehicles past the stone barriers and bollards is prohibited.
13. Tables and chairs are to be returned to the same positions as found and Hall chairs are to be stacked in 12 stacks of 5 chairs at the rear of Hall (see photo).
